MarkitoBar
What MarkitoBar is
MarkitoBar is a notes app for the macOS menu bar. It works entirely on your Mac without an account. Signing in with Google turns on an optional sync service that keeps a copy of your notes and attachments on this server so you can use the same account on several Macs.
Your account
Accounts are created only through Google sign-in. We store the email address and the Google account identifier Google gives us, the date you accepted these terms, and session tokens for each Mac you sign in from. We do not receive or store your Google password.
Your content
Notes, images and recordings you sync are yours. They are stored so that the app can sync them between your Macs and for nothing else: they are not read, analysed, shared or sold. Your Mac keeps the original files; the server holds a copy.
You can make a public link to a note from the dashboard. Anyone with that link can read that note, with its images and recordings, until you revoke it or it expires; nothing else in your account is reachable through it. Links are never created for you.
You are responsible for what you store and share. Do not use the service for content that is illegal or that you have no right to keep or publish.
Limits
Notes are limited in size and each account has a media quota. Sign-in attempts are rate limited. The service is provided as is, without uptime guarantees; keep your local copy, which the app maintains for you.
Deleting your account
From the app, Account & settings → Delete my account erases the account and everything the server holds for it, including its public links, immediately and permanently. The notes on your Mac stay.
Changes
If these terms change, the version above changes and the app will ask you to accept them again the next time you sign in.
